The Trucking Industry has a severe shortage of well qualified drivers. Our goal is to help fill this shortage with quality drivers. Through this course, students will obtain the necessary knowledge, skills, and attitudes to enable them to become a safe skilled, professional commercial truck driver.

OBJECTIVES: To instill in the student the desire and attitudes needed to become a professional truck driver in today's market. These attributes must include knowledge, patience, and respect for other motorists. To fill a need that exists in the industry for trained professional drivers. To make the student knowledgeable of State and Federal rules and regulations, governing the driving of commercial vehicles. To insure that when you leave school at the end of your training you will be well qualified to your job with which ever company you choose to work.

ADMISSIONS

Must be 18 years old to operate in the State of Georgia (21 to operate nationally). Must have an MVR report with no more than 8 points or 3 moving violations in last 3 years. No DUI in last 3 years, no more than one DUI in last 7 years. Must submit a DOT physical with drug screen and alcohol test. Both Class A and Class B Commercial Truck Driving students may be subject to random drug testing during the quarter they are registered for Commercial Truck Driving classes.
