Computer Programming Specialist is offered as an Associate Degree of Applied Science or as a diploma program. The Computer Information Systems program includes general education courses and fundamental occupational courses.

Diploma Program

This eighteen-month (full-time) program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing.  Technical areas covered include computer terminology and concepts; program design and development; systems analysis and design; database management; computer installation and maintenance; and networking.  Program graduate receive a diploma and are qualified for employment as computer programming specials, website designers, or networking specialists.

Associate Degree Program

This two-year program (full-time) program is designed to provide students with an understanding of the concepts, principles, and techniques required in computer information processing.  Technical areas covered include computer terminology and concepts; program design and development; systems analysis and design; database management; computer installation and maintenance; and networking.  Program graduates are qualified for employment as computer programming specialists, website designers, or networking specialists.

Associate Degree Admissions Requirements

Applicants must meet general admissions requirements and also must:

  1. Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma, GED, or college degree.

  2. Present acceptable ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT, or CPE scores taken within the last five years or transfer of program level English and math from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better.
