EARLY CHILDHOOD EDUCATION Kathy Weber |
The Early Childhood Care and Education program is a sequence of courses designed to prepare students for careers in child care and related fields. The program emphasizes a combination of early childhood care and education theory and practical application necessary for successful employment.
THE DIPLOMA PROGRAM
Graduates may pursue either a diploma or degree. The
diploma graduate receives a diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education and
has the qualification of early childhood care and education provider. Diploma
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet general admissions requirements,
and must also:
Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma, GED, or college degree.
Present acceptable ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last five years or transfer of program level English and math from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better.1
THE ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAM
The Early
Childhood Care and Education program is a sequence of courses designed to
prepare students for careers in child care and related fields. The program
emphasizes a combination of early childhood care and education theory and
practical application necessary for successful employment. Graduates may pursue
either a diploma or degree. Those students who earn an Associate of Applied Technology degree have the qualification of either early childhood care and
education paraprofessional or early childhood program management director.
Associate Degree Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet general admissions
requirements, and must also:
Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma, GED, or college degree.
Present acceptable ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last five years or transfer of program level English and math from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better.
