INDUSTRIAL SYSTEMS
TECHNOLOGY Mike Chandler Program Coordinator
|
This two-year (full-time) program consists of a carefully planned sequence of courses designed to prepare students to work as industrial systems technicians in one or more of the following areas of concentration: Air Conditioning Automated Manufacturing Technology Drafting Technology Electronics Technology Machine Tool Technology Plastics Technology Industrial Electrical Technology Industrial Maintenance Technology.
THE DIPLOMA PROGRAM
This program is an eighteen-month sequence of courses that prepares students for
employment as an Industrial Systems technician/electrician. The program provides
learning opportunities that introduce, develop and reinforce academic and
technical knowledge, skill, and attitudes required for job acquisition,
retention, and advancement. Additionally, the program provides opportunities to
retrain or upgrade present knowledge and skill. The diploma program teaches
skills in Industrial Systems Technology providing background skills in several
areas of industrial maintenance including electronics, industrial wiring,
motors, controls, PLCs, instrumentation, fluidpower, mechanical, pumps and
piping, and computers. Graduates of the program receive an Industrial Systems
technology diploma that qualifies them for employment as industrial electricians
or industrial systems technicians or I and E technicians.
THE ASSOCIATE DEGREE PROGRAM
This two-year (full-time) program consists of a carefully planned sequence of
courses designed to prepare students to work as industrial systems technicians.
The associates degree program builds upon the diploma program in Industrial
Systems Technology, providing background skills in several areas of industrial
maintenance and control systems. The program provides learning opportunities
that introduce, develop and reinforce academic and technical knowledge, skill,
and attitudes required for job acquisition, retention, and advancement.
Additionally, the program provides opportunities to retrain or upgrade present
knowledge and skill. Graduates of the program receive an Industrial Systems
Technology Associate of Applied Technology that qualifies them for employment as
industrial electricians or industrial systems technicians with opportunities to
move into management positions.
Associate Degree Admission Requirements
Applicants must meet general admissions requirements, and must also:
Present official documentation of an earned high school diploma, GED, or college degree.
Present acceptable ASSET, COMPASS, SAT, ACT or CPE scores taken within the last five years or transfer of program level English and math from a regionally accredited college or university with a grade of C or better.
