FULL-TIME POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT

POSITION:  General Education Instructors                                         LOCATION:  Griffin

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

BIOLOGY - Applicant must have Masters Degree in Biology or a Masters degree with a minimum of 18 semester or 30 quarter graduate hours in graduate level Biology courses.

ENGLISH - Applicant must have Masters Degree in English or a Masters degree with a minimum of 18 semester or 30 quarter graduate hours in graduate level English courses.

MATH - Applicant must have Masters Degree in Math or a Masters degree with a minimum of 18 semester or 30 quarter graduate hours in graduate level Math courses.

PSYCHOLOGY - Applicant must have Masters Degree in Psychology or a Masters degree with a minimum of 18 semester or 30 quarter graduate hours in graduate level Psychology courses.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (In addition to the minimum qualifications)
All applicants are preferred to have excellent written and verbal communication skills  with proficiency in Microsoft Office.  Prior teaching or training experience at the post-secondary level; Experience with Angel, Blackboard, or Web CT.

RESPONSIBILITIES: This individual will be responsible for teaching day and evening courses in the Arts and Sciences Department.  Under general supervision, prepares lesson plans for classroom and online instruction; develops program curriculum, syllabi, goals, and objectives; evaluates students� progress in attaining goals and objectives; prepares and maintains all required documentation and administrative reports; attends various professional development training; assists with recruitment, retention, and job placement efforts.  The position may require committee and project assignments as well as day/evening classes and activities.  Other duties as assigned.

SALARY/BENEFITS:  Salary is commensurate with background, experience, and qualifications.  Benefits include paid state holidays, paid annual and sick leave, and the State of Georgia Flexible Benefits Program.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Under general supervision, performs a variety of secretarial and clerical duties.  Reconciles data, reports, or forms for accuracy and compliance with program/operations procedures.  Maintains filing and record-keeping systems.  Answers telephones and greets visitors in a courteous and efficient manner.  Uses sound judgment and knowledge of organization�s policies and procedures to respond to questions, requests, and needs.  Creates and maintains a high performance environment characterized by strong team orientation.

PART-TIME POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT 

POSITION:  Adjunct Instructor

Griffin Technical College is continuously seeking qualified candidates for adjunct faculty teaching positions.  Adjunct faculty positions are temporary, part-time positions of employment appointed on a quarterly basis.  Adjunct instructors enable us to provide education opportunities beyond what would be possible using only our full-time staff. 

Griffin Technical College is currently building an applicant pool to teach courses in the following fields:

         Allied Health Programs

         Arts & Sciences Programs

         Business Technology Programs

         Industrial/Technical Programs

         Public Services Programs

Qualifications for teaching include a minimum of three years full-time experience in the field in which they are to teach and educational background specific to the courses/programs being considered.  Formal teaching certification is not required.

Adjunct positions in some Associate Degree programs require a Masters Degree in the field or a Masters Degree with at least 18 semester hours in the teaching discipline to be taught.

Applicants for positions other than Associate Degree programs must hold a baccalaureate degree from a nationally or regionally accredited college or university in the teaching discipline or a related field.  Preference will be given to candidates that hold a master�s degree.

OCCUPATIONAL EXPERIENCE:  Applicants must have three years of full-time, paid, infield work experience within the past seven years.  Computer skills desirable.

RESPONSIBILITIES:  This individual will be responsible for teaching clinical classes; accreditation and state licensing management; and LPN program recruitment.  Hours for this position range from 8 to 29 per week.

Patient Care Assisting Instructor- Applicant must have a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse degree from a regionally accredited institution and current State of Georgia RN or LPN license. Minimum of one year nursing experience required.
