This year at graduation the newly formed GTC Alumni Association Advisory Board will be handing a GTC Alumni lapel pin (see above) to graduates as they exit the stage after receiving their diploma. The Alumni Association will also be staffing a table in the lobby at First Assembly during graduation to collect and/or distribute membership forms offering each new graduate a FREE one-year Alumni Association Membership ($25 value). Students also received these forms in their graduation packets.

Help support this effort by encouraging the graduating students in your program to complete these forms. We want to stay connected to our ALUMNI!

New GTC Alumni Advisory Board GTC Launches Alumni Association

Griffin, Georgia, April 30, 2007 –

Griffin Technical College has recently established an Alumni Advisory Board to oversee the upcoming formation of the Griffin Technical College Alumni Association. The board held its first meeting in April in conjunction with the Program Advisory Committee meetings. They Board was welcomed by Dr. Sherry Williams, Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Barbara Jo Cook, Vice President for Advancement. “The faculty and staff of Griffin Technical College applaud and support the efforts of the charter members of the Alumni Advisory Board. This Board will help to develop the Alumni Association, support the alumni, provide a forum to form new friendships, enhance business relationships, and support the mission and purpose of the College,” stated Ms. Cook.

Plans are already underway to welcome new graduates into the Alumni Association during Griffin Technical College’s Commencement ceremony on June 14, 2007. The AAB is also planning activities and events that will keep graduates connected to the college as well as offer them benefits such as a dedicated website, job placement assistance, networking and mentoring opportunities.
