Steps for
Taking an Online Course
1. Register for your online course.
2. You will not have access to the course until the first week of class, which is September 30 through October 6th. Classes will not be made available until September 30th.
3. During the first week of class you will need to log into the course in Angel. Once you enter the course, you should e-mail your instructors to give them your correct e-mail address and to verify your first assignment. Note: If you do not log in to Angel and e-mail your instructors during this first week, you may be dropped from the course for not "attending" class. Your instructor may have additional requirements.
4. To log into your course, go to Angel, http://gvtc.angellearning.com. Save this link in your Favorites.
5. Enter your user name and password.
6. Follow the directions, and a list of your courses will appear. Simply click on the one you wish to enter. You must enter each class in which you are enrolled and contact the instructor via e-mail. Logging into one class and e-mailing that one instructor does not give you attendance for all the classes.

If you are a new student, your user name and password will be the same thing. It is 31_plus your student ID number. If your Student ID number is 900011111, your user name and password will be 31_900011111. Once you enter the course in Angel you will be prompted to change your password. When you log into Angel the first time, your username and password will be 31_plus your student ID number. If you cannot remember your password and you have a valid email address listed in Angel, you can request your password be emailed to you.
Student email Accounts
If you are a new student, your user name and password will be the same thing. It is 31_plus your student ID number. So, if your Student ID number is 900011111, your user name and password will be 31_900011111. Once you enter the course in Angel you will be prompted to change your password.

New student email accounts will be available by July 8th. Please do not put your own email address in Banner web. This can prevent you from being issued a Griffin Tech email account. Please activate your Griffin Tech email account by following the Student email link on the Griffin Tech web site. Your student email account should be listed in Banner. Your initial password is “password”.
Do You Need Assistance?
The first person to contact if you need assistance is your instructor. Please email them with any concern or question you may have. Please give them at least 24 hours to reply to you. If you email on Friday, it may be Monday before you receive a reply. Please know that the first week of class is crucial, but busy. You need to log into your course and send an email to your instructor (for attendance). However, if you have problems, please be patient. The instructor will get on track within a few days of the quarter beginning.
