What is SLC?
The Student Leadership Council (SLC) is a student government organization that serves Griffin Technical College students in many ways, from attending to local campus needs, to serving our larger community.
The SLC enhances the life of all students by offering opportunities for leadership development, fellowship, and volunteer activities. The SLC plans campus activities and sponsors school and civic improvement projects.
Student activity fees are administered through the SLC. These fees are established for the sole purpose of providing resources and activities for Griffin Tech students. This fee is paid for already in your tuition.
Why Should I Join?
Learning does not end in the classroom. With the help of our advisors, the Student Leadership Council provides a supportive, values-based environment that prepares students to be active leaders in a complex and ever-changing society.
While working with the Student Leadership Council, you can help sponsor events such as concerts, speakers, and dances. You can also help tackle the issues of the student body through participation in college committees. Involvement in the Student Leadership Council will help you utilize the skills learned in the classroom for the betterment of the college community.
What Does SLC Do?
During SLC meetings, you as a student leader will help decide on programs and events to make student life at Griffin Tech more fun and rewarding. Here are some of SLC's current projects:
Student Appreciation Day
Every spring, one day filled with free food, games, and prizes is given to the students. ALl students of Griffin Technical College are welcome to attend the festivities! This is presented by the members of SLC.
Intramural Sports (Men and Women)
Students can participate in basketball, softball and other sports at Griffin Techs. Each intramural team competes with one another for awards at the tend of each season. SLC sponsors this great program for the studnts!
Plus: Guest speakers, leadership training, fun events, and your great ideas-- All sponsored by SLC!
