ABOUT OUR TESTING SERVICES
Dear
Applicant,
Welcome to our College and our admissions process. If you
are applying for a program that requires admissions via test
scores, we accept the following: ASSET, COMPASS, ACT, and
SAT. These tests must not be more than five years old, and
not designated as institutional only. If you require
special accommodations during testing, you must request
those accommodations prior to scheduling a test date.
You must complete a special needs form and provide the
appropriate diagnostic documentation. The evaluation must
be completed by licensed personnel and assessed within the
last three years of anticipated enrollment date.
The COMPASS is a comprehensive computer–adaptive testing system that helps to place students in appropriate courses and maximizes the information postsecondary school need to ensure student success. The COMPASS has the reading, writing, and mathematics components. The mathematics components consist of pre-algebra (numerical), and elementary algebra. These components are given in a block of lab times. You can schedule a Compass retest for admissions if your score is within five points of the required program score. If the scores reflect that you need learning support courses you will be placed in those courses. If you are in a degree program you must test out of learning support classes.
Thank you for selecting our college to fulfill your academic goals. You will be scheduled for the COMPASS depending upon test availability, dates and/or preference.
Please call the admissions office if any further assistance is required at 770-228-7348, and any admissions assistant or secretary will assist you.
Sincerely,
Lynn Futral
Vice President for Student Affairs
